Minh Carrico brings his passion for visual communications to the classrooms of Edmonds Community College after nearly 20 years of experience in the industry. His career began while a college student in Austin, TX at St. Edward’s University where he graduated with a BA with a major in Photocommunications. Prior to graduating, he opened a photography studio and produced creative images for advertising agencies, design firms and magazines. While living in New York City, his visual experience expanded to the role of art director for print and web designs. His clients includes 3M, Atlantic Records, Benjamin Moore Paints, Detour Magazine, Michel Gondry, Annie Leibovitz, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, MTV, and Whole Food Market Inc. |

Sarah Maki, who joined Edmonds Community College in 2006, teaches Painting, Drawing, 2D & 3D design and Art History courses including Survey of Western Art and Contemporary Art. |

Contact: Melissa Tomlinson Newell Department: Art |

Melissa Newell, an Art Instructor at Edmonds Community College since 1989, teaches Art Appreciation, 2D and 3D Design, Painting, Pottery, Jewelry and Sculpture. In addition to serving as co-chair in the Art Department, Melissa's work includes community art advocacy projects focused on art education. She has served as a juror for Bumbershoot, the Edmonds Art Festival, and numerous Washington State for the Arts public works projects and has led workshops for adults and children in the areas of art and diversity since 1984. Long interested in a variety of materials and surfaces, her work often includes the use of mixed media. She is currently working on series of paintings focused on autobiography, identity and community. Melissa received a M.F.A. in art from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and a B.A. in art from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. |
