Students completing studio art courses should be able to:
- Effectively apply and discuss specific elements and principles of design in completing course projects and assignments
- Effectively apply techniques and skills of good craftsmanship to completed projects and course assignments
- Effectively, consider, evaluate and generate sound solutions to problems in design
- Produce quality work through the application of a variety of design techniques and media
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic compositional guidelines and how to apply them effectively to course projects and assignments
- Give and receive constructive critiques of design projects created by you and colleagues using language appropriate to the domain and course themes
- Demonstrate the appropriate use and care of tools in the studio
- Demonstrate an understanding of correct safety procedures
- Demonstrate an engaged working style
- Demonstrate research skills in a specific medium or period for presentation and proper documentation of research
- Demonstrate some ability and understanding how to create a personal visual language based on an understanding of where influences come from
