Dear Colleagues,
Commencement is the highlight of the year. It’s the chance to see for ourselves the successful results of what Edmonds Community College is all about. For the first time since I came here, I had to miss commencement this year. But thanks to our clever marketing and communications staff, we can still enjoy some of the excitement.
I urge you to take a moment to check out this new site. You can read and listen to the student speakers, who were marvelously inspiring this year. If you click on images from the commencement 2006, you’ll see some fine pictures. If you click on voices of commencement, you’ll get to hear a podcast of students who were just about to graduate. Turn up your speakers, you’ll know there was a band in the background and a little breeze in the air.

Hola Amigos:
I like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all LASA members, volunteers, staff, faculty, friends, and the community. The Fiesta Latina was a great turn out. Everyone including the children had fun and enjoyed games, music, and the piñata. Many thanks to Mariachi Colimas, the Folkorico Dancers, Steve Gaush and his orchestra, Jason Fernandez, and the talented Julian Estrada, Sam Smith and Andrea Akiyama. I would also like to add a special thank you to the Taco truck that worked hard and was patient in taking everyone’s order. They did a great job. The Fiesta Latina was a successful one; it brought approximately 250 to 300 people!
—Maria Morales
For all of those who couldn’t make it, don’t worry….we have next year to work on. Good job all of you! You made me very proud. You worked hard and stayed committed to your positions. I couldn’t have asked for a better crew than you!
Now for more good news. We will be having a L.A.S.A. BBQ or Fiesta sometime in the next 2-3 weeks! Coming soon! I will keep you posted.
You’re President,
Jc Fernandez
